* Coming up next week: BHEA's Pack 442 will be having its annual kick-off pack meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 6 p.m. at the Greenbelt Pavilion (by the courthouse). This is the traditional opening pack meeting and boat race. Each boy should build a boat out of whatever material they want (wood, styrofoam, empty soda bottles, etc.) and decorate it however they want. We will meet at the Greenbelt pavilion for a bring-your-own food and drinks picnic and then race boat in the creek.

* Most Enrichment Classes still have openings. Please check the website at http://www.BHEA.net for full class listings. Classes for preK-6th grade will begin in September.

* Box-Tops: To join the Box Tops booster group and support BHEA, go to www.boxtops4education.com
there is a place to check my schools progress. We're listed as Blount Home Education. They also have a new book club program, where for every dollar you spend on books through their club, you get a box top per dollar. Let Debbie know it you are interested in doing this. * The BHEA Calendar is for everyone! All members can access this by going to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BHEA/cal (You will first need to subscribe to the yahoogroups list by going to BHEA-subscribe@yahoogroups.com). The calendar is updated frequently. You can also print this out if you'd prefer.

* If you would like to join our "chatty" yahoo group, please send an email to BHEA-subscribe@yahoogroups.com. This is the place where you can post questions about anything from curriculum to dishwasher repair, items to sell or buy, prayer requests, etc. Any member may join the group. IN THE AREA:
* There will be a meeting on Thursday, August 28 from 6:30 - 8:00 PM, at the West Knoxville Branch Public Library at Kingston Pike & Papermill Rd, in Bearden (100 Golfclub Rd., Knoxville 37919). The purpose of the meeting is to organize a home school high school swim team under SMHEA. We tentatively started a team last year, but want to expand on it. For those that might be interested, this would include any home school swimmer in grades 9-12. We can also accept middle school swimmers, grades 7-8, but they will only be allowed to swim exhibition in dual or tri-meets, if all teams agree. This gives middle school swimmers a chance to experience high school swimming & it is good practice.
In 2007, TISCA (Tennessee Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association) approved into their bylaws that home school high school swim teams could form & swim with the public/private school teams.
Our team will be under SMHEA. Please RSVP if you are interested & can come to the meeting.
